We are going to construct a geodesic dome for the BLR campsite. Due to the size of this project, we should get started ASAP. If enough people can get together this Sunday, it would be a good start date. Hopefully we can receive the training and complete a large portion of a dome so that we can finish it over the coming weeks.
The process is basically a lot of measuring, cutting, and end squashing. Tools that we don't have will be provided as well as instruction and assistance.
The main info page being used is http://desertdomes.com which has a calculator for figuring out the size and version we will be shooting for. If someone has some free time to run some numbers, we are looking at either a 3V or 4V and it would be best to optimize for 10ft conduit being cut into struts with the least waste. One thing to consider is that each strut needs 3/4in leeway on each end for fastening, so add that to the calculator lengths.
Let's make this happen!
